FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about AppDex Scores, data sources, mobile app listings, affiliate links, and the no-account MVP scope.
What is AppDex?
AppDex is a curated index for comparing AI tools and useful mobile apps by practical fit, pricing, trust, and product quality.
Where can I see how scoring works?
Use the methodology page. It explains the AppDex Score formula, confidence labels, last reviewed dates, and score independence.
Are AppDex Scores paid rankings?
No. Vendors cannot buy higher scores. Scores are independent editorial assessments, not paid placements.
Where does the data come from?
The launch MVP uses manual editorial seed data. Mobile app listings may include manual entries and Apple Search API metadata for iOS listings.
Does AppDex include every AI tool?
Not yet. The current site is a curated MVP, not a claim to cover every tool in the market.
Can companies submit a tool or app?
Yes. Companies can use the submit page to request a listing or promotion review. Submissions are private admin requests, not public ratings, and vendors cannot buy higher AppDex Scores.
Does submitting create an AppDex Score?
No. A company submission does not create a rating, user review, ranking, or automatic AppDex Score. AppDex may review the request manually later.
Can I use affiliate links?
Yes, where a tool has an official affiliate or partner program and the link is disclosed clearly. AppDex Scores should stay separate from affiliate placement.
How do I contact AppDex?
Email [email protected] for support, corrections, privacy requests, or legal notices.
