AppDex Privacy Overview

What AppDex is

AppDex is a curated public index. The site currently has no public user accounts, no login, no public comments, no user ratings, no public reviews, no payments, and no user-uploaded ZIP files or marketplace downloads.

Information we collect

Most visitors can browse AppDex without directly giving us personal information. If a company submits a tool or app, AppDex may collect the details provided in that form, including tool name, company name, URLs, contact name, work email, role, platform, category, promotion interest, and notes.

AppDex may also receive basic technical information from hosting, security, and analytics infrastructure, such as IP address, user agent, request path, approximate region, timestamps, and error logs. This information is used for security, abuse prevention, debugging, performance, and site operations.

Company submissions

Company submissions are private admin requests. They are not published as user ratings, public reviews, endorsements, automatic listings, or automatic AppDex Scores. The site owner may review, edit, reject, delete, or follow up on submissions at their discretion.

Admin request data may be stored in Cloudflare D1 and is returned only through an admin-token-protected API. The admin inbox may store private status labels and internal notes. Email follow-up happens through the admin's own email client using the email address provided in the form.

How information is used

AppDex uses information to operate the website, review listing or promotion requests, respond to companies, maintain accurate pages, protect against abuse, debug issues, and improve the index. AppDex does not sell personal information in this MVP.

Third-party links and app store data

AppDex links to third-party websites, app stores, and tool vendors. Those services have their own privacy practices, terms, prices, and data policies. AppDex is not responsible for third-party websites, apps, stores, downloads, purchases, subscriptions, or claims made by vendors.

Cookies, analytics, and infrastructure

AppDex may use Cloudflare and other infrastructure providers to deliver, secure, cache, and measure the site. If analytics or affiliate tracking are added later, AppDex should disclose that clearly and keep sponsored or affiliate placement separate from editorial AppDex Scores.

Data retention and removal

AppDex keeps company submission data only as long as reasonably useful for reviewing requests, operating the site, resolving disputes, improving accuracy, or meeting legal and security obligations. To request correction or deletion of a company submission, email [email protected]. AppDex may need to retain limited records where required for security, legal, or operational reasons.

Security

AppDex uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for this MVP, but no website or storage system can be guaranteed perfectly secure. Do not submit confidential code, trade secrets, passwords, payment details, health information, government IDs, or other highly sensitive information through AppDex forms.

Children

AppDex is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child submitted information, contact [email protected].

Changes

AppDex may update this Privacy Overview as the product changes. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated overview.
